Day pictures are good but there has to be "some" lignt at night. I love the 12x zoom and the auto panning. I can check the whole area out without doing anything. There is one problem at night. On the left side, in about 1/6th of the frame there is a white line. From the white line left to the edge the picture is kinda messed up. Its a lot darker then the rest of the frame. This happens know matter where I pan the camera.

Rated 5 out of 5�by Carla HORRIBLE MANUAL--TERRIFIC CAMERA!
After nearly a week of studying the very poorly written manual that came with this camera, I went rogue. What a difference! I discovered things like how to change color values for night and day so that they come out right, how to change the settings so that I have a very good chance of seeing someone pretty well even if there is just a little light, and how to adjust left/right limit points so that the camera will pan only the area I want--and quickly. I am an older woman with a severely disabled adult son that lives at home. We live in a big city with great police response time. Still, if someone broke in, we would be at risk. With this light, if I hear a bump in the night or get an alarm from the motion set cams that came with the Pro DVR set I bought, I can just step a door down from my room to what I affectionately call 'The Situation Room', and everything I need is all right there, in color, full as life on my HDTV. In no time, the police would be here to help us. This camera has changed my life significantly. Why the company includes this awful manual, I will never know. If I wasn't very patient, with some confidence re: technology, I'd have sent it back, and that would have been a shame. It's really a great camera!
Swann: get a ticket to the clue bus--you have a fantastic camera here, but you need to overhaul your writing staff!

We bought this camera to replace an old Honeywell AD2FC1 that had absolutely great color but sadly no pan, tilt or zoom. We are not sure if those benefits out-weight the benefit of having great natural color.
